keratoacanthoma. predominantly exophytic growing tumor with invaginated central honing crater. on the left side it is clearly recognizable that the lateral border is formed by "lip-like raised" normal epithelium. immediately below the KA a hair follicle with cystically dilated excretory duct is visible. in the dermis numerous follicular incisions are visible.

Keratoakanthoma: Mature keratoakanthoma with broad epidermal tumour strands matured in the upper parts and enclosing a central horn plug.

keratoacanthoma. detail enlargement of the basal tumor segments. in the upper image section, "mature cell" epithelial proliferates with enlarged keratinocytes with glassy-homogeneous cytoplasm. polymorphism of the cells increasing towards the base, blurred borderline to the dermis (lower image section). distinct inflammatory infiltrates in the dermis. numerous neutrophil granulocytes in the basal segments of the tumor.

Keratoacanthoma: Older keratoacanthoma with an inflammatory component, microabscesses of eosinophilic and neutrophilic leukocytes.
