Basal cell carcinoma nodular: Irregularly configured, hardly painful, borderline red nodule (here the clinical suspicion of a basal cell carcinoma can be raised: nodular structure, shiny surface, telangiectasia); extensive decay of the tumor parenchyma in the center of the nodule.
Kaposi's sarcoma endemic. asymptomatic, reddish to livid spots and papules as well as oedema. smooth skin surface without scaling. endemic form occurring on the lower leg.
Skin metastases: multiple, sometimes ulcerated, coarse, skin-coloured and red papules and nodules in the groin and scrotum in metastatic anal carcinoma.
Dermal melanocytic nevus: for 12 years persistent, 0.9 x 0.9 cm in diameter, soft, sharply defined, calotte-shaped skin-coloured lump on the forehead. 76 year old female patient: "In former times a brownish birthmark had been located at this site".
Lichen planus (classic type): for several months persistent, red, itchy, polygonal, partly confluent, red, smooth, shiny (in places anular) papules on the trunk.
Basal cell carcinoma nodular: Slowly growing, symptomless, surface-smooth, red lump that has existed for several years; conspicuous bizarre vessels that run from the edge over the lump.
Dermatitis herpetiformis: multiple, disseminated, eminently chronic, itchy, prickly, scratched excoriations, few vesicles (note: the vesicles must be sought in DhD).
Tufted hairs:Folliculitis decalvans; in the centre mirror-like scarring plate with wicklike hair tufts; in the marginal area of the scarring hair tufts with incised hair shafts.
Lichen amyloidosus: General view: Since several years slowly progressive findings with densely packed, skin-colored, 0.1 cm large, differently intense itching papules on the lower leg in a 34-year-old female patient.
Verrucae vulgares (detailed picture): flat wart bed with subungual infiltration. This constellation results in considerable therapeutic complications. It is important to exclude a verrucous carcinoma.
Elastoidosis cutanea nodularis et cystica. multiple, chronic inpatient, bds. periorbital localized, 0.2-0.4 cm large, blurred, soft, symptomless, black papules (comedones) and yellow papules (nodular elastosis). occurs in a 65-year-old man with chronic UV exposure over decades.
