Acne comedonica. reflected-light microscopy without contact medium (perinasal region; 21-year-old man with comedone acne): Large-lumen sebaceous gland ostia with marginalized inner root sheath (whitish opaque, corresponding to Str. granulosum) and outer root sheath (yellowish brown, corresponding to Str. spinosum). Furthermore, microcomedones with diameters up to 0.4 mm at the upper edge as well as central vellus hairs are visible.
