Plantar fibromatosis in progressive systemic scleroderma; rather strand-shaped pressure-sensitive, rough induration in the middle area of the plantar fascia.
Melanoma, malignant, superficially spreading.superficially spreading malignant melanoma with multiple, partly inconspicuous, partly dysplastic melanocytic nevi. over decades, regular, intensive sun exposure in southern European countries ("he just loves the sun").
blue naevus. blue-black, coarse, sharply defined, calotte-shaped nodule with a smooth surface. at higher magnification some horn inclusions can be seen on the surface. in addition, hairs run through the nodule. especially the detection of hairs in the nodule area speaks against malignancy (DD: nodular malignant melanoma).
Cryptococcosis of the skin: Crusty plaque of approx. 3 x 3 cm in size surroundedby a reddish, slightly raised rim in the middle of the forehead of a 37-year-old HIV-infected person (not set to HAART at the time of presentation).
Kaposi's sarcoma: Nodular stage of an HIV-associated Kaposi's sarcoma; sharply defined, reddish, darkly pigmented tumor with no symptoms and a slightly verrucous surface.
Lip furuncle. acutely appeared, increasing, inflammatory, fluctuating, localized on the upper lip, swollen, painful, red lump. 2 days of elevated temperature and leukocytosis are secondary findings.
Leprosy lepromatosa: advanced findings with numerous, almost symmetrically distributed, asymptomatic papules and nodules, no accompanying inflammatory reaction.
Nodules: Subjectively little disturbing, 6.0 x 6.0 cm large, soft, elastic, laterally well definable nodules that can be moved on its support in a 65-year-old patient. diagnosis: lipoma.
