tinea faciei. itchy and moderately painful, livid-reddish, rough, scaly plaque with intact or burst pustules on the surface. on pressure discharge of pus. patient has received 15mg methotrexate p.o. for several years because of polyarthritis. the present finding can also be called granuloma trichophyticum (majocchi).
Penis carcinoma: plate-like , rough infiltration of the glans penis with extensive fibrin-covered ulceration of the surface, lymphedema of the prepuce in paraphimosis.
Lymphogranuloma inguinale: Inflammatory swollen lymph nodes in the groin area (bubo) in a 26-year-old patient (stage II of lymphogranuloma inguinale).lymphogranuloma venereum groin. detailed view
Angiokeratoma circumscriptum: Vascular (venous) malformation of the skin (and subcutis) with circumscribed, aggregated moderately firm, blue-grey verrucous, painless plaques and nodules; varicosis of the surrounding area.
Hidradenitis suppurativa: chronically persistent, brownish or reddish livid scarring in the right axilla of a man. multiple, partly florid, red plaques and nodules. also scar fields. strong nicotine abuse for 30 years.
Squamous cell carcinoma in actinic pre-damaged scalp:Continuously growing keratoacanthoma of the scalp, existingfor about 7months, with a smooth surface and a broad base; multiple actinic keratoses.
Granuloma anulare perforans: Presence of a disseminated granuloma anulare with multiple shiny papules, some of which show central ulceration (see inlet).
Acne infantum. multiple, chronically active, localized on cheeks and forehead, disseminated, firm, moderately painful, red follicular papules. combination with pustules and red atrophy.
Tinea capitis profunda: Inflammatory, moderately itchy, slightly painful, fluctuating nodule in the area of the capillitium in children with extensive loss of hair.
Melanoma, malignant, acrolentiginous. 2 x 3 cm diameter, red, flat, slightly putrid ulceration on the right big toe of a 73-year-old woman. At the lateral border of the ulcer there are shadowy pigment remains (circled and marked with arrows) in intact skin. In addition, palpation of the peripheral venous leg stations on the right inguinal side shows several enlarged venous leg ulcers (DD: reactive enlargement?).
Squamous cell carcinoma of the skin: 1.5 cm large, spherical, red node (tumor) with ulcerated surface and hemorrhagic crust on the forehead of a 67-year-old female patient.
keratoakanthoma classic type: 6-year-old patient. development of this 1.1 cm in diameter large nodule in 6 weeks. somewhat stalked painless solid nodule. the central horn plug has formed only in the last 3 weeks.
Keratocanthoma centrifugum marginatum: Plate-like, centrally ulcerated giant keratoakanthoma over the sternum, persisting for about 8 months, with considerable light damage.
Myxoma, cutaneous. reddish rim of a papule with central crustal coating after evacuation of a mucous content in the area of the forehead hairline of a 36-year-old female patient.
