Elastosis actinica: Incident light microscopy (forehead region): dense yellowish, partly lobular plaques (senile sebaceous gland hyperplasia), interfollicular, whitish opaque areas (elastosis), transparent horny layer, ectatic vessels of the subpapillary horizontal plexus as well as rarefication of the point capillaries.

Elastosis actinica: Incident light microscopy (neck region): parallel striations of the skin field (increased transepidermal water loss), compact garland-shaped and abruptly breaking, brown pigment stripes (atrophic reticules without double contour) as well as ectatic vessels of the subpapillary plexus.

elastosis actinica. atrophic surface epithelium. cloggy degenerated collagenous connective tissue in the upper and middle dermis. in the upper dermis completely unstructured, basophilic, elastotic masses. the elastotic changes extend finger-like to the sweat gland bed.
