keloid. large, brown to brown-red, very rough, smooth nodes with a jagged edge structure. not painful to the touch, with significant pressure considerable pain. postoperative condition after excision of several acne nodes in the sternal region.
Nummular Dermatitis: General view: For several months persistent, strongly itching, solitary or confluent, coin-sized, infiltrated papules and plaques on the back of a 48-year-old patient.
Pityriasis rubra pilaris (adult type) Detail: chronic recurrent course for years with phases of marked improvement and extensive recurrence (fig. in a relapse period). Characteristic for the disease are the boundaries of the plaques drawn with a sharp pencil, resulting in the so-called "nappes claires", sharply recessed zones of unaffected skin in the case of extensive infestation.
eczema, photoallergic. 51-year-old female patient. generalized skin disease with 0.2-0.4 cm large, red, slightly scaly papules (see lower margin of the picture), which have merged into flat plaques on the exposed skin areas. sudden spread. appearance within a few weeks after infection, intake of antibiotics as well as later exposure to sunlight.
scabies. severely itching, disseminated, pinhead to lentil-sized, centrally eroded papules on the trunk and extremities. granulomas appear periumbilical and inguinal.
Naevus verrucosus unius lateralis: Multiple, chronically inpatient, since birth existing, in recent years clearly raised, large-area plaques, running along the Blaschko lines and in a linear pattern, localized mainly on the right side of the body, sharply defined, firm, symptomless, grey-brown, rough, wart-like plaques in a 16-year-old adolescent of Mediterranean ethnicity.
Keloid. chronically stationary, acne-typically distributed clinical picture. multiple, in the area of the seborrhoeic zones of the trunk localized, irregularly distributed, 0.3-1.5 cm large, skin-coloured, flatly elevated, smooth papules and plaques of moderately firm consistency.
Impetigo contagiosa. acutely occurring, persistent for 5 weeks, increasing despite external therapy, localized on the trunk and right arm of an 18-month-old boy, red, erosive, rough papules and plaques, partly covered with crusts. Similar skin lesions were found on the face and all extremities.
eczema, atopic (nummular atopic eczema). findings persisting since the 1st month of life in a now 22-month-old boy. sudden exacerbation with severe itching since 4 weeks. generalized clinical picture with red, scaly and weeping plaques up to 10 cm in diameter. red papules of 0.1-0.3 cm in size disseminated in the apparently free skin areas (see right forearm and face).
larva migrans. chronic dynamic disease, which appeared 3 weeks ago after a holiday in kenya. multiple, irregularly distributed, sharply defined, linear, strongly itching, firm, red, smooth papules, localized on the buttocks. in the marker test the anterior end of the duct grows 1-2 cm daily.
Lyme borreliosis, late stage: symptomless, morphea-like, blurred plaques existing for several months. borrelia titer with highly specific bands positive. histo: diffuse, plasma cell-rich superficial and deep dermatitis. PCR: detection of borrelia antigens.
