Angelica root + gentian root + caraway

The fixed combination"angelica root, gentian root, caraway" positively monographed by Commission E consists of:

• Angelicae radix (angelica root)
• Gentianae radix (gentian root) and
• Carvi fructus .

This combination of medicines is used for flatulence, loss of appetite and dyspeptic complaints.

Combination of Angelicae radix, Gentianae radix and Carvi fructus are used for mild, cramp-like complaints of the gastrointestinal tract, for loss of appetite and for dyspeptic complaints.

The individual substances of this combination must be present as a single drug at a level of 30 to 50 % of their daily dose. In the case of angelica root this is 4.5 g, gentian root 2 to 4 g and wormwood 5 g.

Headaches are rare. In addition, the furanocoumarins contained in the product may cause an increased light sensitivity of the skin and thus redness or inflammation. Therefore, an intensive UV exposure should be avoided.
