Lichen sclerosus et atrophicus. hourglass phenomenon with classic whitish-porcelain-like skin on perigenital region, labia and in a smaller extent also in the area of the perianal region in a 7-year-old girl. for several weeks genital itching has been present occasionally. the labia have already elapsed in the lower parts. currently no rhagades are visible. long patient career despite childhood age.
Lichen sclerosus et atrophicus. pinhead-sized, in places confluent, whitish shining papules. complete atrophy of the labia minora. associations with autoimmune diseases like vitiligo, alopecia areata or thyroid diseases are possible.
Lichen sclerosus et atrophicus. extensive extragenital 'infestation with typical "leathery" changes of the skin surface due to a distinct orthohyperkeratosis in the fallen areas. the areas are brightly discolored due to orhtohyperkeratosis and the underlying "edema zone". thus the natural color of the area is lost.
Lingua plicata: red, smooth tongue with congenital, asymptomatic, increased longitudinal furrow of the tongue surface, especially in the area of the anterior two thirds of the tongue; the illustrated finding shows the partial manifestation of a 41-year-old man with Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome.
Porphyria cutanea tarda: Pronounced scarring in the area of the forearms and back of the hand in a patient on dialysis (for years extremely light skin vulnerability).
