Molluscum contagiosum: Detailed enlargement: disseminated, 0.1-0.7 cm in size, firm, coarse, waxy, broadly seated, smooth, red papules, which are centrally dented on closer examination; sometimes itching; psoriatic suberythroderma.
Scleromyxoedema: Multiple 0.1-0.2 cm large, roundish, non follicular papules with a smooth, shiny surface; their linear arrangement is typical, which is also found in lichen myxödematosus.
Angiokeratoma corporis diffusum, reflected light microscopy (focus in the navel region of a 41-year-old woman): Subepidermal, irregularly configured, finger-shaped branched red lacunae.
Tungiasis: Detail enlargement of the previous overview. densely standing, 1-5 mm large, partly roundish, but mostly stripy reddish-livid papules (duct structures; see right in the picture) which almost always show a small encrusted erosion at the edge (entry site of the fleas). In the center of the picture the efflorescences are overlaid by scaling.
Koebner phenomenon. isomorphic irritant effect in psoriasis vulgaris. striped plaques and linearly arranged psoriatic papules that have formed in scratch marks.
Eczema atopic photoaggravated: 72-year-old female patient with a known, less active, chronic atopic eczema. 1 year ago the patient noticed an increasing "sensitivity to light". The present UV-triggered exacerbation with pronounced itching (after a long walk in summer sunshine) has persisted for 3 months. Despite local treatment with a class II steroid externum it proved to be resistant to therapy.
Xanthomas, eruptive:disseminated, 0.1-0.3 cm large, yellow-brown, flat raised, superficially smooth and shiny, firm papules in dense seeding in a 54-year-old patient with known hyperlipoproteinemia type IV.
Prurigo simplex subacuata: typicaldistribution pattern of the interval-like itchy, scratched, inflammatory papules and plaques. in places the changes are also linearly arranged. numerous atrophic scars are also visible. known poorly controlled diabetes mellitus. onset of chronic terminal renal insufficiency
Ulerythema ophryogenes: the area marked by the square shows follicular papules (keratosis follicularis) on an enlarged scale with a reddened courtyard which merges into a two-dimensional erythema.
Acne, Mallorca acne. acute (after sun exposure 14 days ago), in UV-exposed areas (especially face, upper arms, décolleté, back), 0.1-0.3 cm in size, moderately consistent, itchy, follicular, red, smooth raised areas (papules, pustules).
