Cutis verticis gyrata: Lateral profile of the capillitium of a 26-year-old patient (bodybuilder), who after extensive use of anabolic steroids developed these cerebriform thickenings, furrows and folds of the capillitium, which had been progressive for 6 months.
Lymphomatoid papulosis of the flexor-sided forearm; within a few weeks a red, painless lump developed, which ulcerated in a central crater-like manner.
Lymphoma, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, large-cell, CD30-positive. general view: Multiple, chronically dynamic, increasing, non-displacing, confluent, covering a total area of 6 x 6 cm, hemispherical nodules with hard, central, red part and deep, crater-shaped ulceration in a 64-year-old patient.
Leprosy lepromatosa: advanced findings with numerous, almost symmetrically distributed, asymptomatic papules and nodules, no concomitant inflammatory reaction.
Angiosarcoma of the head and facial skin: the 69-year-old patient noticed this rapidly growing and recurrently bleeding 3x5 cm large, little symptomatic node around the capillitium for 6 months. After incomplete preliminary surgery within a few weeks formation of the present recurrent node. The inconspicuous erythema around the node is noticeable. After the micrographically controlled surgery, the tumor was only free of tumor after an approximately 10 x 10 cm large excision.
Melanoma, malignant, nodular. Malignant melanoma of the primary nodular type. In the last months area and thickness growth. Has repeatedly oozed and bled. Asymmetrical, irregularly limited, clearly raised, dark brown-black ulcerated node with plaque-like base.
Bowen's disease with transition to Bowen's carcinoma: solitary, size-progressive plaque that has been present for several years, occasionally accompanied by itching, sharply and arc-shaped, border-emphasized plaque with increasing verrucous nodular formation (see following figure).
Pilomatrixoma: Reddish-brown, calotte-shaped, painful lump, which is movable in relation to the underlying surface and has been slowly progressive for 2 years.
Leishmaniasis, cutaneous. solitary, chronically dynamic, since 6 months slowly growing, 1.5 x 2.0 cm in size, firm, slightly scaly, brown, rough, flatly elevated lump with central ulceration. anamnestic journey to an endemic area (vacation in Mexico).
Keratoakanthoma, classic type: hard, reddish, central keratotic lump, measuring about 2.0 cm in diameter, grown within a few weeks DD: squamous cell carcinoma.
