Psoriasis of the nails: circumscribed damage to the nail root with alteration of the cuticle, marked by arrows and crossbars. Oval circles around an onycholysis area. The marked crossbars denote so-called Beau-Reilsche transverse furrows.
psoriasis of the nails. severe onychodystrophy with wave-like transverse ligament with simultaneous psoriatic attack of the nail wall (paronychium). completely missing eponychium (cuticle). partially crumbly nail matrix on the nail surface as well as on the distal edge. no pain symptoms.
half and half nail: zonal, sharply bordered white coloration of the proximal and brown coloration of the distal nail plate. slight acrocyanosis. no underlying disease remembered. known is a polyneuropathy

Meesche transverse ligaments: 56 year old woman. 3 months before the present picture was taken, the patient had severe bronchitis. Psoriasis of the nails. approx. 4 x 5 mm oil stain on the distal nail matrix near the inflamed nail bed of a 51-year-old patient with psoriasis vulgaris since 15 years. Additional findings show some small rhagades in the area of the nail bed. Wide distal onycholysis.
Half and half nail: Zonal, slightly blurred white coloration of the proximal and brown coloration of the distal nail plate; no underlying disease known.
half and half nails. white coloration of the proximal half of the nail plate and sharply defined red or brown coloration of the distal half of the nail plate. finger and toenails are affected. the milky white coloration of the free-standing nail plate indicates a simultaneous scleronychia.
Psoriasis of the nails. single (only on the thumb), complete, crumbly onychodystrophy (psoriatic crumb nail). massive swelling and redness of the whole thumb, infestation of the joints in the ray (so-called sausage fingers).
