naevus anaemicus: congenital, marginal irregularly dissected, white, smooth spots. no redness after rubbing the spot. on glass spatula pressure the borders to the surrounding area disappear. brown colored, intralesional melanocytic naevi (speaks against vitiligo!)
Thomson's syndrome. bilateral raparification of the eyebrows and eyelashes in a 59-year-old woman with Thomson's syndrome. Furthermore, cross-linked telangiectasias, confluent pigmentation spots and well definable depigmentation on both cheeks.
Mastocytosis of the urticaria pigmentosa type: generalised infestation of the integument with disseminated brown spots, patches, papules and plaques, which in some places congregate to form larger areas
DD: Melanoma malignes acrolentiginous: here: complicating onychomycosis with bleeding due to mold infestation; the inlet points proximally, a normally colored nail area; no Hutchinson phenomenon.
Hypomelanosis guttata idiopathica: Disseminated, different sized, roundish, sharply defined, white patches on the lower leg of a 74-year-old patient; slight lesional scaling; solar lentigines.
Amalgam tattoo. chronic inpatient blue-black stain on the alveolar process mucosa at the level of the apex of the right lateral incisor, existing since 2 years. on the basis of the radiological examination evidence of a root tip resection and retrograde root filling of the tooth with amalgam.
Rosacea erythematosa: extensive and even reddening of both cheeks due to the development of multiple telangiectasias; variable course of reddening; intensification with slight swelling due to cold/heat changes or after alcohol consumption.
Dermatitis, phototoxic. detail enlargement: pronounced erythema on the fingers of the left hand. 2 x 1 cm measuring, flaccid bladder with clear content at the index.
Dermatitis solaris. almost universal, succulent erythema in a 30-year-old patient (skin type II) after intensive, several hours of sunbathing in the midday sun. accompanying strong sensation of heat, chills and circulatory weakness about 7 hours after exposure to the sun.
Dermatomyositis. 72 year old patient with dermatomyositis known for 1 year. striped red, scaly papules and plaques over the base of the fingers. deep red, painful and slightly scaly plaques on the end phalanges, also directly periungual. distinct hyperkeratotic nail folds.
Acrocyanosis: Diffuse, reddish-livid skin discolouration at reduced temperature and doughy swelling; delayed filling of the vessel after anaemia by finger pressure (iris diaphragm phenomenon).
Lentigo simplex: multiple, sharply defined, light-brown pigmentation spots on light-exposed areas of the face, note the pigmentation of the red of the lips
argyria (detail): localized argyria of the lip region and the oral mucosa. at higher magnification, the irregular, dark metal deposits in the area of the red of the lips are clearly visible (circle). on "normal" lip skin, this color tone is not produced by the horny layer of the skin.
Klippel-Trénaunay syndrome: extensive vascular malformation with extensive nevus flammeus affecting the trunk and both legs. No evidence of soft tissue hypertrophies so far. No AV fistulas. Here detailed picture of the right hand.
