lipoatrophy, localized after glucocorticosteroid injections. general view: 2.5 x 3.0 cm large, circular area with whitish atrophy of the skin and telangiectasia. clear loss of substance of subcutis and fatty tissue. distal of the atrophy a slight swelling in the sense of a lymphatic congestion is visible. the skin changes developed in the course of the last two years, after a single steroid injection into the left knee because of knee problems.
Scar atrophic: extensive atrophy of the skin after many years of use of systemic glucocorticoids (inhaled glucocorticoids due to bronchial asthma). the bizarre scars developed after banal blunt trauma "the skin was torn like a cloth".

Atrophie blanche. reflected light microscopy (section of a lesion on the lower leg): Atrophic-diluted, transparent epidermis with subepidermal, meander-like tangled vascular convolutes and blood leaks of different ages; whitish opaque, unstructured skin areas (fibrotic connective tissue) are also visible.
