Scabies: Survey image: Genital region of a 55-year-old patient with generalized eczematized scabies; severely itching (especially at night), disseminated, pinhead- to lenticular-sized, centrally eroded papules, especially on the glans penis.

Balanoposthitis plasmacellularis. 2 years (!) of varying degrees of persistent, burning and itching, sharply limited redness and erosions of the glans penis and prepuce in a 60-year-old patient, following preputial adhesions and frenuloplasty.

Hidradenitis suppurativa. development of eminently chronic, abscessed fistula ducts with inverse pattern of infection, especially on the perineum, scrotum, scrotal root, perianal region, pubic region, inner and outer sides of the thigh. Axilla, upper arm and chest region were also affected. Characteristic is the development of hypertrophic scars and contractures.

Bowen's disease:long-standing, slow-growing, sharply defined large-area, sometimes erosive, sometimes scaly, less symptomatic, sometimes slightly burning, red plaque.

Balanitis plasmacellularis: chronic balanitis in a 61 year old patient. rather discreet findings. no other skin diseases known. no diabetes mellitus. slight urinary incontinence. several blurred, slightly raised red plaques. no significant symptoms.

DD Balanoposthitis plasmacellularis:painless, permanent plaque that has been present for years, growing continuously, diagnosis: erythroplasia (carcinoma glans penis!)

Tinea inguinalis: plaques that have existed for several months, coarse lamellar scaling and moderately itchy. Mycological evidence of T. rubrum.

Balanoposthitis plasmacellularis: for several months, variable, multicentric, blurred, shiny redness and erosions on the glans penis and the preputial leaf; the changes on the preputial leaf are to be interpreted as "impression lesions".

Lichen simplex chronicus. 42-year-old man. 1 year old, hardly scaly, flat raised, intermittently itching red papules and plaques.
