Water absorbing nail softening paste of the type W/O (2-phase paste). Apply thickly daily under an occlusive bandage to the diseased nail for 1-2 weeks. After 24 hours, remove the ointment residue and scrape off the softened nail substance. To avoid skin damage, the healthy nail wall and the area around the nail should be covered with zinc paste.
