Trichoadenoma D23.L

Very rare, solitary, benign adnexal tumor of the infundibular part of the hair follicle. Located between trichofolliculoma and trichoepithelioma as a highly differentiated variant of the latter. S.a. Adnexal tumors with hair follicle differentiation.

Especially in adulthood, no gender preference.

Located mainly on the face and eyelid area, less frequently on thighs or buttocks.

Reddish to skin-coloured, slow-growing, up to 0,5 to 3,0 cm in diameter, usually rough papules/plaques or lumps.

Well-defined dermal tumor consisting of aggregates of epithelial cells with cystic, horny centers resembling transverse sections of infundibular hair follicles. No hair shafts.
