Spier, hans wolfgang

(¤ 1912, † 1975) Dermatologist. Born in Poznan in 1912, he studied medicine in Wroclaw, Leipzig and Hamburg. 1940 state examination in Hamburg. He received his first dermatological training at the University Dermatology Clinic in Hamburg. With A. Marchionini, Spier moved to Munich. 1953 habilitation there on the subject of "The epicutaneous lobule sample as an aid in experimental and clinical eczema research". 1957 appointment as full professor. Also in 1957 appointment to the Dermatological Clinic of the Free University of Berlin, which was initially located at the Virchow Clinic and later at the Steglitz Clinic. Scientific focus: eczema research, skin physiology, psoriasis, lichen ruber.
