Pruritic

The terms "prurigo" and "pruritus" as adjectives used "pruriginous" and "pruritic", are derived from the Latin prurire = itch. They are often erroneously used synonymously, but have different meanings.

Pruritus is synonymous with the phenomenon "itching" and is not bound to a specific skin appearance.

Prurigo is an independent itchy skin disease.

Pruritic would be the adjective to pruritus and would therefore only mean "itching". Pruritic, the adjective for prurigo, would imply that it is an itch in a defined skin disease associated with itchy papules or plaques, e.g. prurigo.
