Nevus, melanocytic, congenital. congenital, initially flat, later clearly raised, sharply defined, round, soft, brown plaque with slightly roughened surface.




Congenital melanocytic nevus. Brown, soft plaque sharply delineated from surrounding normal skin. Hypertrichosis.

Nevus melanocytic congenital: melanocytic nevus unchanged for years.


Congenital melanocytic nevus. brown, soft, papillomatous plaque sharply demarcated from the surrounding normal skin. no change in colour or shape has been detected so far apart from the "physiological" size growth.


Nevus, melanocytic, congenital. 6 x 4 mm large, brownish pigmented nevus in the area of the left small toe in a 3-month-old girl. Regular clinical control is necessary. Excision planned at the age of >10 years.

Nevus melanocytic congenital differential diagnosis: Becker nevus: During puberty and postpubertal increasing hairiness of a nevus previously only visible as a brown spot. No symptoms. Typical for the Becker nevus is the "frayed" demarcation to normal skin.

Large congential melanocytic nevus (LCMN): no neurological sympotaxis detected (see below melanosis neurocutanea).

Nevus melanocytic congenital: half-sided (checkerboard pattern of a cutaneous mosaic) localized congenital melanocytic nevus
