Lichen amyloidosus: General view: Since several years slowly progressive findings with densely packed, skin-colored, 0.1 cm large, differently intense itching papules on the lower leg in a 34-year-old female patient.
Lichen amyloidosus. homogeneous eosinophilic material in the papilla tips, irregular acanthosis. enormous hyperkeratosis and parakeratosis.
Lichen amyloidosus. congo red staining. yellow-red staining of cloddy material in the papillary epidermis. when polarized, this material glows greenish.
Lichen amyloidosus. immunohistological imaging of cytokeratin. partly punctiform or linear, partly clumpy imaging of cytokeratin-positive structures (keratinamyloid) in the papillary dermis.
Lichen amyloidosus: Electron microscopy: Amyloid (A) deposited in small clusters between macrophages (M) subepidermally, immediately below the dermoepidermal basement membrane.
Lichen amyloidosus. electron microscopy: Subepidermal plaques of amyloid (A) in cutaneous amyloidosis, remains of the cell organelles in the amyloid, signs of the epidermal origin of this amyloid.
