Myxoma, cutaneous. detail: The pre-existing connective tissue (eosinophilic strands) is displaced by a diffusely embedded Alcian-blue-positive material. Significant proliferation of spindle fibroblasts, which in places are aggregated to small cell islands.
myxoma, cutaneous. moderately cell-rich new formation localized in the dermis and subcutis, fuzzily limited to the sides and depth. diffusely distributed, spindle or star-shaped, reticularly connected cells are found as well as deposits of gelatinous substances in the meshwork. ectatic vessels are particularly impressive in the upper dermis.
