PPG-2 propyl ether (INCI)

PPG-2 bezeichnet das Akronym für „Polypropylenglycol“, dem Polymerisat von Propylenglycol (1,2-Propandiol), einem zweiwertigen Alkohol. Die Zahl hinter „PPG“ gibt die durchschnittliche Anzahl der Propylenglycol - Moleküleinheiten an, bei „PPG-2“ sind dies 2 Propylenglycol-Moleküleinheiten. „propyl ether“ bezeichnet Propylalkhol (Propanol) als alkoholische Komponente.

PPG-2 propyl ether wird in kosmetischen Rezepturen eingesetzt. Das Substanzgemisch wirkt als Lösungsmittel.
