Isoproypl cresols (INCI)

Isoproypl cresols, das Isopropylderivat des m-Kresols (s.u. Kresol),  ist ein Kresolderivat, das in kosmetischen Rezepturen eingesetzt wird.  Isoproypl cresols wirkt als Konservierungsmittel (hemmt die Entwicklung von Mikroorganismen in kosmetischen Mitteln und konserviert sie).

Die Rahmenbedingungen für Konservierungsmittel die in Kosmetika eingesetzt werden dürfen, sind in der EG-Kosmetikverordnung (1223/2009) Anhang V festgelegt.

"Isopropyl" bezeichnet den Isopropyl alcohol als alkoholische Komponente einer Substanz.
