Amebiasis. entamoeba histolytica cyst, microscopic detection in stool: the differentiation between E. histolytica and E. dispar is not possible microspecifically on the basis of the cysts. the cysts contain up to 4 nuclei and are larger than 10 µm (smaller than 10 µm or 8 nuclei indicate apathogenic amoeba species like E. hartmanni).
