Auricular reduction surgery. Fig. 1 a: Corneal cones protruding the skin level on a reddened, slightly scaly base in the upper helix region in a 67-year-old man. The test excision revealed a cornu cutaneum on the basis of Bowen's disease; an incipient deep invasion of the tumor could not be excluded histologically with certainty. Planning of a three-layer wedge-shaped chondrectomy with lateral Burow's relief triangles to prevent a protrusion of the anthelix region.
Auricular reduction plastic surgery. Fig. 1 b: Uncomplicated healing process 6 days after surgery, residual sutures are still present on the helix. The tumor excision was performed in healthy subjects.
