Rutoside

Formerly known as vitamin P (Factor P), this flavonoid occurs naturally in numerous plants, such as buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum), rue (Ruta graveolens), hawthorn and Sophora japonica, the Japanese cord tree. The substance is moderately soluble in water (1g dissolves in about 8L of water), slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether.

Anti-edematous; the effect is not clearly proven.

Chronic venous insufficiency, edema.

The active ingredient complex of rutoside (rutin), nicotiflorin and epicatechin acts as a phytoextract in rosacea anti-inflammatory (IL-1 inhibition) and inhibits the angiogenic factor VEGF.
