Therapy of venous leg ulcers in the decongestion and maintenance phase

Models previously registered in Germany:

Circaid juxtacures, Fa. medi. Consisting of an understocking, a cuff and - if desired - a compressive sock. An initial fitting with corresponding cut is carried out. In the course of the procedure, the cuff can be readjusted in the different levels again and again according to possible changes in circumference and/or painfulness of the leg. The package also includes a small card for pressure control.

In spite of the listing in the German guidelines and the good evidence, the experts state that about 83% of patients with florid leg ulcers are not treated with compression therapy. Furthermore, it is shown that a large proportion of providers have large knowledge gaps regarding compression materials and the proper implementation of compression therapy (Protz K et al. 2018).
