HMPC monograph: Traditional-use: dried bilberries (Myrtilli fructus sicca) in diarrhea, fresh bilberries Vascular action: supportive in chronic venous insufficiency. Microcirculatory disorders in the eye. External: Mild inflammation of the oral mucosa, superficial skin wounds. Studies on the improvement of night vision by bilberry anthrocyanins are available.

ESCOP monograph: for non-specific, acute diarrheal diseases; externally for local therapy of mild inflammation of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa and superficial wounds. These areas of application are based on findings from many years of use in humans.
Commission E-monograph: non-specific, acute diarrheal diseases; local treatment of mild inflammation of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa.
