A medicinal plant recognized in traditional Chinese medicine for 1200 years. The dried root of the Chinese peony (Paeonia lactiflora) is used in the form of potato chips or as a powder due to its antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects.
The root (Paeoniae radix) and flowers (Paeoniae flos) of the peony are used phytotherapeutically.
