Naringin, chemically 4',5,7- trihydroxyflavanone-7-rhamnoglucoside, a naturally occurring, whitish, odourless, solid bitter substance Naringin is the
flavanone derivative naringenin glycosidically linked to the sugar rhamnose.
The flavanone glycoside (see flavonoids below) naringin and its aglycon naringenin belong to the group of natural polyphenols. A number of biological activities have been experimentally demonstrated, including antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, and anti-apoptotic activities.
