Fenchon

Colorless, camphor-like smelling bicyclic monoterpene ketone that occurs naturally in both officinal fennel fruits and officinal fennel oil. The substance is also found in aniseed, dill and thuja oils.

Fenchone is used as an antiseptic in the pharmaceutical industry, but also in the perfume and food industries.
Fenchone is also used to treat mild inflammation of the upper respiratory tract as well as dyspeptic gastrointestinal complaints and urinary tract infections.
