Pharmacy-only, non-prescription drugs pursuant to § 34, Subsection 1, SGB V, are excluded from care pursuant to § 31 SGBV. The prescription of these drugs is only permitted by way of exception (see below OTC) in accordance with § 34 Para. 1, Sentence 2, if the drugs are considered to be the standard of therapy for the treatment of serious illnesses.
