Application of fragrances for therapy. Fresh plants or plant extracts are used, either directly on the skin or as volatile substances in the room (scented lamps, incense). Important essential oils, mostly sustances from the terpene group: anise, bergamot, eucalyptus, fennel, camomile, lavender, cineole and peppermint oil (see below: field mint). While lavender is used more for disinfection and relaxation, peppermint oil is effective for tension headaches.
