The TIRAP gene (TIRAP stands for "TIR Domain Containing Adaptor Protein") is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11q24.2. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants.
Note: The innate immune system recognizes microbial pathogens via Toll-like receptors (TLRs), which identify pathogen-associated molecular patterns. Different TLRs recognize different pathogen-associated molecular patterns, and all Toll-like receptors have a Toll interleukin-1 receptor (TIR) domain responsible for signal transduction.
