Strongyloidosis: Rhabditiform larva of Strongyloides stercoralis. detection by microscopy of the stool. eggs occur rarely, because the larvae hatch already in the intestine. the larvae are highly infectious by active penetration into the skin. 17-20 days after infection the larvae are detectable in the stool. the larvae can differentiate to males, females of the free-living generation or directly to the invasive (so-called filariform) larva.
