The GPR55 receptor is a receptor protein that belongs to the superfamily of G protein-coupled receptors. The coding gene of the same name is located on chromosome 2q37.1.
GPR55 transcripts are detected mainly in neurons in brain nuclei associated with movement control: striatum, globus pallidus, nucleus subthalamicus, substantia nigra and cortex (Celorrio M et al. 2017).
