DD-leukoplakia orale: verrucous retroangularely localized white plaque in lichen planus exanthematicus, i.e. small white mucous membrane papules above the larger star-shaped plaque.
Vitiligo: Multiple predominantly roundish vitiligo foci. A foci with a central residue of a melanocytic nevus (halo or sutton nevus) is encircled. Note: In the 14-year-old boy it is conspicuous that not a single melanocytic nevus is detectable.
Lichen sclerosus extragenitaler: Diffuse, veil-like, only slightly consistency increased sclerosis of the skin, in case of less inflammatory Lichen sclerosus.
psoriasis of the nails. subungualand ungual changes. the changes in the nail plate correspond to focal parakeratotic keratinizing plaques which erupt during outgrowth and give the typical picture of "psoriatic spots or dimples". whitish lifted nail area due to subungual onycholysis.
lichen sclerosus of the penis: encircled, several discrete, veil-like, little sharply defined, whitish spots and plaques. these have not been noticed so far. the foreskin is sclerosed and slightly constricted like a band (see bar markings). painful tears (arrow markings) occur after intercourse. finally, "pain after intercourse" led to a visit to the doctor!
Porphyria cutanea tarda: back of the hand and dorsal forearms with small papules, excoriations and older scars and hyperpigmentation. no fresh blisters. palms free of irritation.
For 21 days persistent, 2 ca. 0.5 cm large, aphthous, whitish, smearily covered, strongly painful ulcers on the right large labia in a 42-year-old Ethiopian woman.
Lichen sclerosus et atrophicus generalized. large-area infestation with parchment-like skin alteration. red wheals in places, indicating that the process is "still active".
Lichen sclerosus et atrophicus. pinhead-sized, in places confluent, whitish shining papules. complete atrophy of the labia minora. associations with autoimmune diseases like vitiligo, alopecia areata or thyroid diseases are possible.
Pustulosa pustulosa palmaris et plantaris. multiple pustules, occurring in the course of a psoriatic episode, localized on a sharply defined red plaque on the left palm of the hand. no general symptoms. similar skin lesions were found on the soles of the feet
Folliculitis decalvans. 12 months of persistent scarring hair loss, with initially slight itching in a 66-year-old female patient. In addition to purulent folliculitis, tufted hairs with surrounding erythema and numerous small, shiny, hairless areas appear.
