Crest syndrome,numerous telangiectases, sclerosis of the facial skin, periorbital radial wrinkles.

Angiosarcoma of the skin of the head and face. flat, smooth, asymptomatic, chronically dynamic, slowly growing, red plaques without epidermal involvement in a 68-year-old man.

Teleangiectasia. Reticularly branched, irregular vascular dilatations in the cheek area.

Dermatitis chronic actinic (type light-provoked atopic eczema). general view: Disseminated, scratched papules and plaques, nodular in places, as well as blurred, large-area, reddened, severely itching erythema on the face of a 51-year-old female patient with atopic eczema existing since birth. the skin changes can be provoked by sunlight and photopatch testing.

Dermatitis, chronic actinic (type actinic reticuloid). large-area, chronically dynamic, severe eczema reaction limited to UV-exposed skin areas with rough, extensive eminently itchy plaques with fine dense scaling. massive actinic elastosis (see deep rhomboidal skin field of the entire face). already after brief exposure to the sun, increase in burning itching. no history of atopy. probably caused by the intake of thiazide-containing diuretics.

Nevus flammeus lateralis; chronic inpatient, bizarrely limited, symptomless, red, smooth spot on the right side of the face in a 12-year-old girl.

Scleroderma, systemic: within 2-3 years, newly developed telangiectasia of the facial skin.

acute erysipelas. acutely appeared, since a few days existing, increasing, flat, sharply defined, pillow-like raised, flaming red swelling of the left cheek and eye. vesicles and blisters. distinct impairment of the general condition with fever.

Dermatitis chronic actinic: An almost sharply defined flat eczema reaction on the back of the hand that has persisted for months and occurred after short gardening.

Scleroderma, systemic: within a few years, newly developed telangiectasia of the facial skin in previously known systemic scleroderma.

Rosacea erythematosa: extensive and even reddening of both cheeks due to the development of multiple telangiectasias; variable course of reddening; intensification with slight swelling due to cold/heat changes or after alcohol consumption.

Dermatomyositis, malignoma-associated. individual erythema periorbital (here additionally edematous), perinasal and at the scalp in a 67-year-old patient with bronchial carcinoma.

lupus erythematosus acute-cutaneous: acute symmetrical skin symptoms after sun exposure, which have persisted for 1 week. pat. was previously free of skin symptoms. clear feeling of tension in the skin. laboratory: ANA+; anti dsDNA antibodies neg.; anti-Ro antibodies positive.

angiosarcoma of the head and facial skin. for several years (!) increasing, so far completely asymptomatic, blurred, red spots on cheeks and forehead in a 75-year-old man. medical consultation because of recurrent, extensive bleeding in lesional skin. since one month growth of a soft, 8 mm large, solid blue-black node in the middle of the cheeks. extensive, configured redness with bizarre, linear and reticular telangiectasia. bleeding in the zygomatic bone.

DD: Rosacea erythematosa (in this case systemic lupus erythematosus): butterfly-like, symmetrical, variable redness and swelling of both cheek areas, excluding the perioral region.

Mixed connective tissue disease, swelling and diffuse redness of the eyelids, perioral pallor; extensive erythema of the neck and décolleté, tired facial expression, detection of U1-nRNP antibodies.

Dermatomyositis. acutely occurring heliotropic, succulent purple exanthema; typical, pronounced, sharply marked, periorbital and perioral paleness. general fatigue, muscle weakness.

dermatitis chronic actinic: severe extensive, permanently itchy eczema reaction of the entire face with intensification of the eyelid regions. the changes were significantly improved in the winter months, but recur with low UV irradiation (going shopping). in the meantime, normal daylight must also be avoided.

Airborne Contact Dermatitis: chronic (>6 weeks) extensive, enormously itchy and burning eczema with uniform infestation of the entire exposed facial area including the eyelids.
