Xanthelasma palpebrarum: 2 smaller symptomless yellow papules; in addition, a dermal melanocytic nevus (skin-colored soft papules) is found in the corner of the eye and nose which has remained unchanged for many years.

Xanthelasma: Bunion-shaped penetration of the middle dermis, through bundles of light-coloured cells with fine-granular or optically empty cytoplasm. No accompanying inflammatory reaction.

Xanthelasma. detail enlargement: conglomerate of foam cells with large, optically empty vacuoles as well as chromatin dense, mostly centrally located cell nuclei.
