(¤ 20.9.1667, † 1741) English doctor and dermatologist. Daniel Turner was born in Holborn, London, as the son of a sebaceous tracer. He was trained as a barber surgeon by Charles Bateman from 1684-1691. Turner was a pioneer of English (and European) dermatology, which was later continued by Robert Willan and Thomas Bateman. The major contribution to dermatology was the publication of his work "De morbus cutaneis" in 1714, the first dermatological textbook in English, the first "modern" dermatological textbook at all.
