Variant of tinea corporis located in the gluteal region. Tinea glutealis, also known as dermatophytosis, is a fungal infection that affects the skin of the gluteal region. Clinically, it often manifests as red, ring-shaped rashes that can feel scaly and itchy. The affected areas may also be red and feel slightly raised. In some cases, small blisters or pustules may form. Diagnosis is often made by clinical examination and sometimes by microscopic examination of skin flakes to detect the fungus. Treatment usually involves the application of antifungal creams or ointments.
