Srp antibody

SRP is the acronym for "Signal Recognition Particle". The antibody is directed against RNP complex and tRNA-like molecule.

SRP antibodies can be associated with "Rapid Progressive Myopathy". Muscle fibre necrosis, degenerated and regenerating muscle fibres are found in only slightly pronounced inflammatory infiltrates, sometimes also with dermatomyositis-like vascular lesions with rarified and dilated capillaries and occasional complement deposits (anti-SRP syndrome). SRP antibodies are found to a small extent in adult dermatomyositis.
