Shoot mushrooms

Yeasts and yeast-like fungi that reproduce asexually by sprouting. These include: Candida, Cryptococcus, Histoplasma and Paracoccidioides under certain circumstances. The formation of hyphae (see mycelium) or shoot cells depends on environmental conditions.

Native preparation, primary culture on standard nutrient medium, differentiation on the rice agar plate and by the "Bunte Reihe" (test of sugar and nitrate assimilation and sugar fermentation).
