(¤ 1915, † 2006) Swiss dermatologist. Born in Moscow in 1915, he spent his childhood in Basel. 1939 medical state examination. Dermatological training with Wilhelm Lutz in Basel. Habilitation 1947. 1950 opening of a dermatological practice. At the same time he continued to head the allergy department at the Basel University Dermatology Clinic. 1956 Appointed full professor of dermatology at the Basel clinic, succeeding Wilhelm Lutz. 1985 Emeritus status. His scientific work was influenced by new therapeutic developments, such as the use of sulfonamides and cytostatic agents in dermatology. His successor was Theo Rufli.
