Perlèche: age-related involution of the lips. distinct cheilitis actinica. discrete bilateral (toxic-degenerative) dermatitis of the corners of the mouth, due to permanent moisture formation in the areas of the corners of the mouth that lie on top of each other here. the corners of the lips that lie on top of each other act like communicating "liquid channels" that draw saliva outwards.
