Rare tumour originating from the perineural cells. The Pacini neuromas are now referred to as "extraneural perineuriomas". Such tumours occur intraneurally in larger nerves, but also in the soft tissue of the extremities, e.g. at the end phalanges of the fingers. Characteristic is the formation of structures reminiscent of father Pacini's touch corpuscles.

The digital Pacini neuroma is considered an acral variant of the traumatic neuroma.
