Regular cornification of the skin. The orthokeratosis pattern is subdivided into plexiform orthokeratosis (e.g. in normal skin, apart from inguinal skin), compact orthokeratosis (e.g. in lichen planus or lichen simplex chronicus vidal) or lamellar orthokeratosis (e.g. in ichthyosis vulgaris, autosomal dominant). Infundibular (orthokeratotic) hyperkeratosis is characteristically found in keratosis follicularis. The eccrine (orthokeratotic) hyperkeratosis can be found in lichen sclerosus et atrophicus lichen sclerosus et atrophicus or in milia.
