The anti-NXP antibody (MJ antibody; MORC3 antibody) is an antibody whose target autoantigen is a nuclear matrix protein. It was first described in patients with juvenile dermatomyositis (25%). The autoantibody is also found less frequently (5%) in patients with dermatomyositis. It is associated with severe disease, muscle contractures and a higher incidence of calcinosis. Organ involvement is less frequent in patients. Patients with this antibody constellation respond well to therapy.
