Microsporum gypseum. Cultivation on selective, modified (cycloheximide, chloramphenicol) cinnamon agar at 25 °C. Fast growing (already after 5-7 days mycelium of 1 cm ø), flat, grey-brown to yellow-grey or cinnamon-coloured colonies with whitish centres and irregular ray formation (coral stick-like) in the periphery. The texture of the surface appears granular or gypsum-like.
